Best Golf in Rotorua Central
Local Recommendations from our My Guide Rotorua team
With stunning mountain and lake backdrops, Golf in Rotorua is a popular activity. Take a drive off the tee and wander the well-manicured greens and fairways, feeling relaxed and absorbed, as you practice your drives.
Rotorua golf courses are easy to find for both novice and experienced golfers. The city golf club is in the south of the city, at Whakarewarewa, which has great facilities, and visitors are welcome. In the CBD, Government Gardens has a short, 9-hole course, together with a floodlit driving range (and baseball nets!). Families might also like to have a go at some fun mini golf in Government Gardens, with a full 18 holes of teasing twists and turns to frustrate you. Fairy Springs also has a dedicated mini golf course, complete with animals for the kids to pet. There's an impressive course (for proper golfers!) at Springfield, where many an aspiring champion has practised. Check out each club's individual fees, as you can sometimes bag a bargain depending on which day you choose to tee off.
